Accessibility statement
Citadel Culebra is committed to making this site usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. We are working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
Conformance target
Our target is WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and parts of this site are still being refined as the institution is built out. If you encounter a barrier, we want to hear about it.
Measures we take
- Semantic landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) and a logical heading order on every page.
- A “Skip to content” link as the first focusable element so keyboard users can bypass the masthead.
- A visible keyboard focus indicator on every interactive control.
- Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative imagery is hidden from assistive technology.
- Respect for the operating-system “reduce motion” setting — smooth-scrolling, parallax, and autoplay are disabled when it is enabled.
- Color and type chosen to meet AA contrast for body and interface text.
- Background video that is muted, plays inline, and is presented as decorative.
Known limitations
Some fine-print and decorative label text uses a low-contrast treatment for visual hierarchy. We are reviewing these against AA contrast and will adjust where it does not compromise legibility. Where rich media is used, we provide still-image posters and keep motion non-essential.
